The Liberal Party hails the ten years anniversary of the war victory.
Leader of the Liberal Party Mr. Kamal Nissanka issuing a press release states that although Sri Lanka was able to defeat the LTTE separatism militarily ten years ago our political leadership has failed to eradicate the reasons that had given birth to separatist politics.
All politicians and other knowledgeable people also should have in mind that a new enemy is in the horizon of Sri Lanka in the name of Islamic State (ISIS)and other related names. We should keep in mind that there are over 50 Muslim states in the world and we depend on our crude oil from Middle East countries and basically a large portion of our expatriate workers are in Muslim countries.
We should remember that when 9/11 attacks were taken in USA , people did not take law unto their hands and create mayhem in the country but allowed the security establishments to do the duty.
Taking these factors to our minds we should take all our steps to protect and develop national harmony while eradicating the threat posed by the Islamic terrorists. In this regard de-radicalization of the Islamic extremists should be the main theme in the agenda which could carry out by Muslim religious and political leaders.
The Liberal Party requests all political leaders and parties to come together and prepare a vision for future to face new threats of terror in Sri Lanka at the 10th anniversary of defeating separatist terrorism.
